The Pine-Richland School District is a public school district serving the northern Pittsburgh suburbs of Allegheny County. The district features three lower level elementary schools for grades K-3 (Wexford, Hance, and Richland Elementary Schools), Eden Hall Upper Elementary School for grades 4-6, Pine-Richland Middle School for grades 7-8, and Pine-Richland High School for grades 9-12.
In 2007, the middle school was named a School to Watch by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. The recognition goes to schools that are: academically excellent by challenging all students, are sensitive to the unique developmental challenges of early adolescence and are democratic and fair, providing every student with high-quality teachers, resources, and supports.
